On July 31, 2023, Winsome Resources had its first in-person meeting with members of the Cree Nation of Mistissini. During the meeting, which was broadcast live on Facebook, the Winsome team presented the company and its projects during the Mistissini Band Council meeting.
After introducing Winsome, the company’s representatives presented the Adina and Cancet projects, located on the Cree traditional territory of Eeyou Istchee.
The meeting also addressed Winsome’s current challenges, such as the impact of forest fires on Adina’s operations, as well as future milestones, including upcoming environmental work and studies.
Winsome restated its commitment to the Mistissini community and its desire to work closely with them to ensure the responsible and sustainable development of its projects. The meeting was an opportunity for the community to ask questions and express concerns, paving the way for a constructive relationship.
The next steps
To further strengthen this collaboration, the negotiation of a Pre-Development Agreement and site visits were also discussed with members of the Mistissini Band Council. Winsome is committed to continuous communication with the community and to integrating local knowledge into its projects.
